2008 Fall Convention on November 15th and 16th is counting down! Registration is formally open from Sep. 15th for Toastmasters island-wide and overseas. This year, the Convention will be held at Freshfields Hotel in Taichung for the utmost satisfaction for everyone.
The special rate for early birds will be valid till October 26th. Since seats are limited, please register at your earliest convenience and mark it on your calendar.
If you are interested, please come to me for registeration.

The 2008 Fall Convention is coming soon and now is the time for you to help
us to promote your members to register. Your support is a very important factor
for the success of this big event. So far I know, we still need more members to
take action to join us.
2008 年度秋季大會將屆,現在正是需要你們協助去宣導會員趕快報名的
時候了。你們支持是大會成功的重要因素。目前我瞭解的是,我們仍需要
更多的會員報名與支持。
Off course, I need to offer more information for you to know “how
important the convention is and how wonderful of the keynote or guest
speaker, how meaningful of the training program, how good of the meeting
venue and how smooth of the schedule will be. That is why I will offer you
a series of the promotion letter to you.
當然,我們需要提供更多的資訊,讓會員了解大會對他們有多麽地重要,
專題及貴賓的演講有多棒,訓練課程的特別意義以及會議場所的特點將是什
麽等,以便吸引更多會員參加。因此,我將提供一系列的報導,並請轉寄會
員週知。
I believe that every one of us know the time, venue, schedule, agenda of the
Convention already. So let me start from the keynote speaker:
我想大家都知道大會的時間地點議程了,我先介紹我們的貴賓專題演講者:
We fortunately have an outstanding keynote speaker Mr. Johnny Uy to support us.
He is from Cebu City, Philippine. He was the President of Toastmasters International
2 years ago, the first over-sea Chinese as a President of this organization. He is a
professional trainer and will share his experience with us in 3 sessions. The follow

Johnny 住在菲律賓宿霧市,是唯一當選國際總會長的華裔人士。他是一位超優質

1---Educational Session # 1 (11/15, Saturday morning) 週六上午的教育課程
"Life’s Little Leadership Lessons" (50' ~60') 生活就是一種小領導課目
One of baseball’s more memorable players, Yogi Berra once said, “You can observe
a lot by watching.” Funny as it (and other Yogi-isms) sound, this really is true. This
50-minute educational session takes us through the many lessons in leadership that
I have learned – just by watching life go by.
著名的棒球選手瑜珈老師(Yogi) Berra曾經說過:人從觀看中就可以瞭解或
評論很多事。奇怪的是這些瑜珈的教義說法都是正確的。在這五十分鐘的
教育課程中,Johnny 要告訴我們,他如何從生活細微事物的觀查,而學習
到許多領導的經驗。
2---Keynote Speech: (11/15, Saturday afternoon) 11/15 下午的專題演講
"From Good… To Great… To Simply Amazing" 從好到更好而達到驚奇
Why do some Toastmasters take off like rockets, and others remain in limbo? Why do some
Clubs attain their goals every year to become “Distinguished” or better, and yet others don’t?
This presentation will seek to identify the qualities that make Toastmasters and their Clubs go
from good, to great, to Simply Amazing!
為什麽有些演講會員像火箭般的往前進步,而某些人就是停留不前而被遺忘了。
為什麼有些分會每年都達到目標而得到傑出或更好的成績,但某些分會就達不到
呢? Johnny 在演講中要告訴我們,如何認知某些可以讓會員或分會逐步從好變更好
而達到令人驚艶地步的優點。
3---Educational Session # 2 (11/16, Sunday morning) 11/16 上午的教育課程
"Super-Marketing Toastmasters" (40'~50') 演講會的超級推擴術
The name of the game in the supermarket business is to attract new customers and get the old
ones to keep coming back. If this cannot be accomplished, the business is going to fail. Similarly,
all Toastmasters Clubs must continually attract new members and keep the ones already there
from leaving, or else, the Club will “die.” In this 40-minute session, we will compare the Toastmasters Club and Toastmasters membership experience to shopping in a supermarket, and discover simple ways to attract new members and keep the ones you already have.
超級市場的遊戲規則,就是要吸引新顧客進門以及讓老顧不斷回來購而已。如果不能
這樣的話,這個超市就要關門了。相同的,演講會也是要不斷的吸引新會員,並保持
原有會員不要離開。否者,分會就也要關門大吉了。在這個40分的課程中,Johnny 要
告訴我們如何從分會及會員的經驗,跟在超市購物的情況相比較,而尋求吸引新會員
及保留原有會員的簡單方法。
