Duties of the Evaluator for a Speech

Duties of the Evaluator for a Speech
As the speaker's evaluator, he/she has the responsibility of helping the speaker grow and improve. At the same time, he/she will grow in his/her listening skills. The duties include:
When speaker's topic and manual selection is available, study appropriate manual section carefully to ascertain speaker's objective.
Ask speaker if he is trying to achieve any objectives other than those listed for the project.
In addition to manual objectives, observe speaker's mannerisms: stance, gestures, eye contact, etc.
Express strong points along with weak points in evaluation. Don't overdo criticism.
Limit evaluation to about 2 minutes; a speaker can absorb only so much evaluating.
The Evaluator Asks
What was the intent of the speaker?
What actually was accomplished by the speaker?
What contributed to this result? (Material, Construction, Delivery)
What hindered accomplishment of purpose by speaker?
Which areas to direct improvement for next speech?

Dear Jane,
It's a very good 'summary' of Evaluator's duties. I think we can learn a lot from this.

I have a suggestion for you:
To post the article in an organized structure. You could put them one by one in sequencial numbers. Or use HTML mark:
<b>, The Simplest Formula Is A L W A Y S:
<i>, The Simplest Formula Is A L W A Y S:
<a>, The Simplest Formula Is A L W A Y S:

Something like that.
